Maree Johnson

Maree’s most recent role was playing Madame Giry in the Broadway Production of Phantom of the Opera. Born in Sydney, Australia and now living in Manhattan, Maree played Christine Daae in Cameron Mackintosh’s production in Australia. Other roles in Australia include Grizabella in Cats (The Really Useful Group); Les Miserables (Cameron Mackintosh); Maria in Westside Story (International Management Group); Eliza in My Fair Lady (IMG); Isabel/Helen in Scrooge; Young Heidi and Young Sally in two separate concert performances of Stepehen Sondheim’s Follies and the lead role in Sondheim’s You're Gonna Love Tomorrow (Sydney Opera House). In the United States, Maree’s favorite roles include The Widow in Zorba; Fosca in Passion (Barrymore Award Nomination for Best Actress); and Emily in Myths and Hymns.
